Glad to see you again! Today is a day of the post about my special effects adventures during which I learn how to do interesting things which are easy, don't require much money but look realistic.

Honestly I don't remember the particular day I filmed this tutorial and they come randomly on a channel, its hard to set proper schedule for them but anyways I'm doing my best.


I'm trying to mix face painting with special effects to achieve the realistic look with quite inexpensive stuff.
At the moment I'm using Wolfe FX monster pallette and its just awesome for sfx, also the price is about 20$ so it worth everything.

Getting back to tutorial. Its really simple, the main problem is to paint it realistically. So try to add small amount of paint at a time, its always easier to add than to remove. Firstly as a result of makeup I was thinking that I met some werewolf with acid saliva so he spitted on me while trying to cut my head with his paw but just left scratches.

I'm back with a tutorial which is very simple and consists of two parts.

The first part is a fresh bleeding wound which done with gelatin and its inspired by the scar of Tyrion Lannister which he got in a Battle of Blackwater.



How to make own gelatin for special effects?
Well, its quite an easy thing after all. I thought it would be more difficult.
1 spoon of powdered gelatin mixed with 1 spoon of glycerin and 1.5 spoons of clear water. Mix well in a microwave safe container and bring to a microwave or you can use a double boiler. Set 8 seconds, then stir the mixture, then other 8 seconds an stir again till its all liquid and hot. Dont wait for too long as this thing sets up quickly so you have to work fast but dont start applying it immediately as you may get real burns.


So I mixed that thing and applied it with a thin layer on my presketched wound. When it sets a bit, about in 5 minutes I covered it with translucent powder. *Dreaming to buy some Ben Nye neutral powder* And then the wound starts. Try to 'cut' through the applied gelatin with some tool with not too sharp edge as we dont want to damage the skin. Then add some black paint inside the gelatin, on top of it apply red paint and we can start with some sfx blood which you can actually make yourself too!
And its done! Literally nothing more than this. The blood bleeds and be careful with it as it might color your clothes.

Today is the last weeks post which I had doubts about but now decided to announce cause, hey, I'm learning and shouldnt be afraid to show my new experience to people. Probably you would notice my mistakes and wont repeat them on your own. So its a good thing anyway.

This post is about metal things! I love metal things! I'm technician after all. So I decided to do a metal makeup, kind of robot or something like that. Apologize for no talking, I will surely fix this moment later. I was creating the video properly with subtitles and things like that and damn! my pc decided it wont work so it spent 9 hours and done nothing. (Bad PC, very bad).
Oh, youtube allows to add subs in a video so let me try dat thing!

Now about the makeup. I found my inspiration in an art of a robo girl with that exact colors which I used.

So on Tuesday I was thinking about Balam from the Grimm series. I really love that series cause of all the creatures and effects and that books about creatures - no words, only emotions.
I've tried to recreate the fur pattern Balam has but I'm quite limited in things I can use cause its Central Asia baby, no chance to buy special effects products quickly. Though the creature is a complete 3d visual effect without any makeup.

Hey babes!

I've done a new video this week  trying to achieve a look I had in my head. The idea was to create a dark smokey eyes and red lips and ruin this look with big carved letter 'be mine'. I think I got this. Even though I'm not used to wear such dark colors.

The ELF beauty book for smoky look is damn amazing, colors are soooo soft and wears nicely. Though it can be a bit chalky when you take eyeshadow with a synthetic brush. I will attach swatches a bit later but the night version of the look you can check in my tutorial.

Wounds are done easily, Kryolan aquacolor works well anytime 8-) The key is to make the inner part darker, then white out the outer corners and add some flash/tan color in a three-five mm further than the white. You can use pinky red instead of brown.

Smoky eyes in this case are amazingly easy! Highlight the inner area and the brow bone, then add base color almost all over the lid and make outer corners dark/black and ... thats it. I've used the  clear tape to define the line, this help a lot, when you remove the tape just tap that areas with your beauty blender and done) You can use liquid liner to add cat eyes eyeliner which will look good with smoky eyes but I dont like liquid liners...

I wanted to create something interesting and more complicated but decided to try out Drax makeup cause the pattern on his body is damn difficult.
I love 'Guardians of Galaxy' (Rocket Raccoon and baby Groot *_* ) and will definitely try to create someone else but this is the first try)


Amazing makeup work I think, his skin is a mix of dark green, grey and blue and bright red scars or pattern is complicated and looks great.
The original Drax from the comic book was green which reminds me of Hulk so I didn't want to go that 'classic look' way.

You can easily achieve this look cause its much more easier than the blue one though I've done the blue from movie as easy as the green from comics.

Rule 63 says that if there is a man character, some artist already done his woman version.

Its almost Christmas and I've decided to create some makeup that fits the winter, looks good but still very simple. This is how the lace appeared.
The color I've used is blue but you can take any color you like, it might fit your eyes or clothes or whatever you like.
Kryolan liquid body makeup is good choice cause it wont be smudged on your face and its price is fine.

Here is the pattern I've made for you to follow. You can mirror it to see how to draw lace on the other eye.

Bad thing. Should definitely refilm it properly.

My apologies, I wasn't here for a long time.


Yesterday I was trying to create a Mystiques hand and I've painted myself in blue but it wasn't enough and then I added some scales she has. That looked nice in real life but my phone decided the other way and I'm upset now.
 This is what I've got:

Take an aquacolor bodypaint in blue, paint yourself as hard as you can, just have fun! YIIII *futurama mode on*!

Take black eyeshadow and fill your nails with the first and second phalanx of your hand. This will add an interesting gradient effect.

Using flat eyeshadow brush paint half circle scales with black. Find dark blue and fill the other half of the circles with it. You can imagine any scale pattern or use natural lizard/snake patter to paint scales. (I've tried to follow this: )
Then take light blue and draw light on your scales. If you have something like extra flesh, you can create 3d scales and it will look amazing. I don't have it but the painting process for them is the same.

I've made a video but my computer is still working on it and I cannot upload it as is. Also, I've missed the sketching process so... I will create a photo tutorial too.

I think I've made some mistakes and this could be done even better but I like the final result and in real life it looked even better than on photo.

Usually people just wash their faces with water and some face wash lotion or something like that and its ok. At least for first 10 years of wearing the makeup. Bit this is not the best solution at all.

Face washing should be just like a massage for your face to help skin feel itself better.
Makeup removing is very similar to makeup process but not many people think this thing worth it.
You should get the right makeup removing lotion/mousse/gel/milk/foam for your skin type and please please please don't use soap! Besides you should use good quality cotton pads or cotton swabs.

I think all of you have seen those posts about 5 minutes makeup and other tricks, even with the time written.

Yes, yes, I know, there are a HUUUGE pale of tips and tricks for eyeliners but I still want to share some information with you.

People are asymmetrical, there are no two ideal identical parts.
But the asymmetry is so light that we almost cannot see it though. Girls might notice that eyeliner is usually drawn great on one eye but we cannot repeat the same on the other eye.

So today is the post of how to draw you face in 3d!

Hah, that's actually very simple and very complicated thing at a time.
Why?
Cause its easy to do the contour and highlight but its difficult to find colors that would work great at your skin.

Just imagine that there is a lamp in front of you and it shines directly onto your face. Which areas on your face will get more light and where would be the shadow?
That's right, areas which will be lighted is where you need to highlight your skin and shadows are in areas where you have to contour your face.

Matching your skin color is the main thing you should find out.
Highlight color is easier to find, its just your main skin tone + a bit of white so you can use the concealer/highlighter/foundation about 1 tone lighter than your main foundation.

Contour color should look like natural shadows of your face. You can try to put some pressure with your finger to your cheek and the color around your finger is the right shadow color.
Yeah, its easier to use bronzer or contour kit from some beauty company but it doesn't match skin tone sometimes. I'm the proud owner of rosy-pale skin (as you know from previous posts) and my contour should be... rosy-gray. Almost all bronzers look yellow or brown on me and I haven't found the right color in a ready contour palette yet so I have to use different products to get the normal color.

Halloween has just passed and I had a huge bunch of work on it. I was creating 8 characters and 2 simple makeups that day and it made me really tired. Its hard to spend 5 hours on your feet painting people, don't you agree?

my wound is not that realistic but...

Anyways, now I will show how to create very simple open wound with stitches which looks better on a bit tanned skin, cause I have very pale skin and some colors I've used couldn't match it.

Colors of paint were mixed by myself mostly but you can try to find similar colors or mix them yourself too.
These are the tools I've used.

1. Simplest eyeshadow I've found in a bit dark red, black, light pink, a bit more pinky, natural beige and light beige. (Pink eyeshadow are not necessary if you don't have pale skin)

2. Liquid paints in black, white, red and dark red. I've mixed red and a drop of black to get dark red. Those paints used to be Kryolan aquacolors liquid. But you can use 2/4 gouache, 1/4 acrylic paint and 1/4 glycerin to get those paint. Please don't use them much or often and apply some primer on your face before applying gouache.

Today I'm going to tell you some things about neutral and monochromatic colors which are the most useful colors in makeup.

There are many monochromatic and neutral palettes and everybody LOVE them.
You're not sure in it, aren't you?

Well, let me explain and show examples.

This post is for color correction mostly.

All my life I thought I should use light beige concealer to correct my under eye circles. I used it and there were no effect except yellow color under my eyes and to cover the blue circle I have to put more concealer on it which was very bad.

Later I've found out that I have rosy-pale skin and I need pink or salmon color concealer and that definitely saved my skin from too much product and covered all the blue circles under my eyes.

To conceal all the imperfections you should definitely know its color and which color will cover them even with a small amount of product.
And this is where the simple color wheel takes place.

* Except pale skin and rosy-pale which should be covered with a little different colors.

There are many skin colors in the world and sometimes you cannot define the right color for your skin or might be you just cannot find products which are best for your skin color.
